Selection Synopsis:

Let's just say the cover of the book attracted my attention. After reading the synopsis I knew that I would enjoy this novel and for only $.99, I feel like I received a "start the car" bargain. I can not wait to complete this novel. Exultant reading everyone!

Review:

     The first impression of this book after reading the first chapter was that I was going to have to mentally prepare myself for the harsh physical descriptions of slavery. To my surprise, after reading chapter two I was able to relax; as this novel displays one of several romances that occurred during the slavery era.

If you are a reader whom enjoy reading short story novels, this is the perfect book for you. I enjoyed reading this book as it was a page turner for me (2 days for me because I kept stopping) but really you can read the novel in 1 day. Also, if you have the kind of job where you have a 1 hour lunch break; reading this book will give you the feeling of watching a romantic movie as your mind will vividly imagine the characters. I love reading short story novels on my lunch break or 15 minute breaks. I also adored the character Realie; I could completely relate to her stern exterior.  

The only con is, I wished the novel had more to the story-line but maybe there will be a short story sequel.

I recently read a blog that questioned if investing in kindle unlimited is worth the price. The author of the blog stated that you may not find many best seller authors participating in kindle unlimited. Although I have to agree, I believe that kindle unlimited will change the hesitant agreement upon best selling novelist based on access to an increased audience. I am sure that with an appealing contractual agreement best selling novelist will eventually produce reading and audio material to kindle unlimited.  


Now with a broadened electronic reading and audio collection readers will join due to the ability to read unlimited  novels without committing to purchasing individual novels and audio books at expensive prices, and authors will hopefully have increased revenue that will increase the development of African American mystery fiction authors. 


I will begin my Kindle Unlimited journey with a free 30 day subscription and continue my reading and blogging journey at an affordable price. 

SEEKING AFRICAN AMERICAN MYSTERY FICTION NOVELIST

OK! with televisions shows like Being Mary Jane, and reading numerous urban romance fiction novels. I have had my share of the lack of white picket fence marital life novels. I also enjoy reading a good mystery fiction book and after browsing on Amazon kindle I was appalled to notice that there are not many African American mystery fiction authors. In the past I lucked up on two African American mystery novels that I listed in previous blog articles. 

However, recently I am stagnant in my quest for an urban fiction mystery novel; most are catered to the "street life" novels that fail to hold my interest. If you are an urban fiction mystery author or a blog reader who may know of a good urban fiction mystery novel; please leave a comment below with the title and author of the novel and I will be happy to conduct a literary review!
